Advanced Defrag got a very intuitive interface. The straightforward pie chat clearly displays the fragment status of every disk volume. Users can always analyze the targeted volume first before deciding to defrag it. Beside, Advanced Defrag offers users two different ways to defrag hard disk including Quick Defragment and In-depth Defragment. Users are allowed to choose the right defragment method according to different condition, I must say that this feature is very user-friendly than any other reviewed defragment softwares. What impress me the most is the defragment speed, Advanced Defrag only took me 20 minutes to get one of my 60G disk volume defragged, and I remember clearly that last month I spent almost 1 hour to defrag the same volume with the Window build-in defragment tool.

Moreover, Advanced Defrag is one of the few defrag softwares in the market that support Registry Defragment. By adding this feature, users will have more options to optimize their computer rather then paying extra money to get a registry cleaner. Further more, Advanced Defrag also equips with Real-Time Defragmenter feature. By activating this feature, the program will automatically perform defragmentation quietly in the background to keep the system volume fragments-free all the time. Technically speaking, it is a very effective way to keep the PC optimized constantly.

The Bad
The fragment report of AD is not that good as I expected. Advanced Defrag applies web-style report, after each analyze and defrag action, the report will pop-up in the default web explorer of the computer. It is a little bit inconvenient as user is unable to recheck the report from the program if he had closed the Explorer. One of the feature “file filtration” in the program is tend to be useless. I don’t think that people will consider skipping certain files if he decided to defrag the whole volume. Another problem is, Advanced Defrag does not support individual file defragment. My opinion is that, if you offer user an option to skip a specific file, then the individual file defragment feature is necessary at this point, otherwise there is no way for computer users to defrag that specific skipped file unless going through the whole defragment process again.

The Bottom Line
With plenty of flexible defragment options, what Advanced Defrag presents is a totally different defragment experience which is much more user-friendly and convenient than the traditional Windows build-in utilities. The program is reliable when it performs defragmentation as it is not only fast, but also very effective on how it optimize your computer performance. With 6 most-used programs and 6 last click Icons automatically ranking at “Easy Tab” tabsheet for a quick way to run them again, Easy Launcher is also well-designed to enable users to view the frequency report and export the report to an Excel file.
What’s more, Easy Launcher allows customizing the tabsheet appearance, managing the tabsheet column and the hot keys.
